Three Months in Korea

I have been here three months and am beginning to wander around a lot more--when I'm not sick that is.

Here is the recap of the past 2+ weeks:
Busan Tower- Tori & I
Two weekends ago (so the weekend after RocKorea) was my friend Tori's birthday. Since she lives in Busan, I made the hour+ trek there to spend some quality time with her and celebrate it up right! We went shopping and to the Japanese style photo booths, then dinner out at a nice Vietnamese restaurant, and then to the beach near her house for some campfire fun with local CouchSurfers. There was a wonderful fire going all night and it was just cold enough to need to snuggle up by it! We spent Sunday relaxing and more eating out (sushi this time) and some more shopping, then I headed home on the overly crowded last bus to Geoje. Unfortunately for me, it was standing room only for the hour ride back, but at least I made it back!

This past weekend I spent in bed, sick again, hoping to be feeling better before Hannah's arrival on Friday. Since everyone is in close quarters here, no one covers their cough or sneeze, and I am in almost constant contact with disease carrying monkeys (aka children) sickness gets passed around like an offering plate on Sunday morning! One of my friends had been diagnosed with bronchitis about a week before, so as my symptoms were not improving, I thought it best to go get checked out. Since it was Sunday when I decided this, all the doctors offices were closed so I had to go to the hospital--which is really more like a clinic back home. I amazingly enough found the hospital on my own, saw the doctor (within 3 minutes of my walking through the door), was told my breathing was normal so no bronchitis, was asked if I wanted a shot in my bum, declined said offer and asked for the alternative instead, and then paid a whopping 60 cents before leaving with "prescription" in hand for the pharmacy almost directly next door. I got some cough syrup and three days worth of 3X a day pill packs and was on my way home. All before 11am!

By midafternoon I was feeling a bit better (after a nap) so I decided to get on starting this rooftop garden I've been chiming about for weeks now. I went back to town to buy the needed supplies (dirt and a planter) and started to work. I have no idea if I planted them correctly or not (I attempted to follow the directions on the packets of seeds, but got a bit gung-ho with the whole thing and probably put too many seeds in each planter) but they are in planters, in dirt, on the roof, so that is the official start of my rooftop garden! We will see if they sprout, then if they survive for more than a few weeks. Fingers crossed!
They are planted and on the roof so I'm off to a good start!
In the midst of my regular workday excitement I have been coming home to clean, clean, clean my apartment for the arrival of my new three-week roommate. I have scrubbed every surface and cleaned nearly every cranny and at the close of Tuesday afternoon, I feel like I am ready for Hannah to be here! This week will go by both fast and slow with Friday as all I can really see. I meet Hannah at the airport in 74 hours exactly! YAY! Then it's nine days of vacation fun around Korea, showing Hannah the best, finest, and most interesting and odd things Korea has to offer! This means that I will start month 4 off right by seeing a lot of Korea! I will try to post as the days go by to keep the length down--but I can't make you any promises!
